By Maria Powell

Healthcare is vital for the proper functioning of our body. Everybody organ must be given enough care and treatment in case they are not functioning properly. Dental challenge is one of the disorders which affect many people especially young children. Therefore, it is important for those having problems with their teeth to visit certified dentists to assist them in developing workable dental treatment plans.

The main reason why people seek dental therapy is to respond to the needs of patients. Every patient has got a particular. Therefore each patient should be subjected to particular treatments. This planning deals with coming up with medical care stages which will help to control and eliminate a given dental disease.

There are four critical steps which form the care schedule. First is examination and identification of this disorder, second recommendation and intervention by the doctor, after this, the experts will come up with therapy alternatives that can be used. Lastly, the doctor consults with the patient to choose the kind of treatments.

A good plan is needed to ensure that the therapy is done successfully. Usually, the complicated therapy is done in different phases. There are some situations whereby the first three steps are combined to form a single phase. However, it paramount to know that the nature of this disease will dictate the order of this sequence.

The first phase is the urgent phase. It begins with a thorough review of the medical condition as well as the history of patients. Patients with problems such as bleeding, pain, swelling or infection should have their problems addressed at this phase before their conditions become critical.

The urgent phase is followed by control phase. The purpose of this stage is to get rid of active diseases such caries and inflammation. Besides, all the operations necessary in getting rid of potential causes of diseases are done at this stage. At the end of this phase, the etiological factors shall have been eliminated, and the dental health of patients stabilized.

Following control phase is re evaluation phase. This phase is also known as the holding phase. It is the time between the control and the definitive phase. It allows for resolution of inflammation and healing time. During this stage, the initial treatment is re evaluated before the next phase begin.

Following control stage is holding or re evaluation phase. There is no serious therapy in this stage. The patients are given time to recover from the previous treatment before going to the next phase. Once the patient is through with the holding stage, the treatment enters the definitive or the corrective phase. This step is necessary only if further therapy is required. If the progress of patients is good, then there is no need for this step. Some of the operations done here include oral surgery and periodontal.

The last phase is maintenance stage. At this stage, all the treatments are already done, and the patient is given time to recover while at home. The main activity done at this stage is recalling examinations which may determine a need for further treatments.
