Fundraising Ideas For Mutual Funds

By Debra Edwards

There is the expression, there are many ways to skin a cat. The same is true for fundraising for a worthy cause. The sky is the limit when it comes to collecting money for charity or Mutual Funds, whether this is through a book sale, or through holding a bingo evening. It is surely time to put the zing back into how money are raised for good causes.

A book sale is a great method to raise funds. Books are no shortage and are easy to get enough together for a successful fundraiser. To ensure that you get a variety of books from all genres. Go to a local school, ask the principal to send a note to the childrens parents to donate any old books or other items they may have at home that can be sold. Urge your friends and family to do the same.

Have a designated area for boxes and baskets of unwanted items to be placed. All donations can be brought together and be ready to be sold. Market your sale, invite your friends and the greater community to visit your sale and partake in something for the good of others.

Although a sale is a great way to generate funds, collect some old books, cd, DVD or vinyl, should not be so difficult but it may be a bit overdone. Try and be creative. Bring out the elbow grease by having a local car wash. With the service of a tea garden or food stall to occupy car owners while they wait a moment for their soon to be squeaky clean car. People are never opposed to the idea of having a clean car for an affordable fee.

No dislikes get physical for a good cause. Get people moving their legs and bodies with a fun run (color run), in which participants are sponsored for the distance traveled. Opt for getting the help of a local gym as this will generate more support and participants.

Fun runs are lovely but maybe some participants would like the companionship of their pet dogs, have the option for people to bring their dog for a particular fee. Perhaps even host a dog walk in which participants can pay a fee to enter a best-dressed dog competition.

People love pets, and these same dogs, together with other pets, can also be used for a pet show. Invite the community to register their pets for a small fee and then give each person the change to parade their animal for an audience on a specially-designated area. When all is said and done and you need to bring in extra money and fast, why not create an old-fashioned charity tin.

Charity collection tins are a great way to get raise funds, go to all your local shops and stores to place your tins at every check-out counter, ask your friends to take one to work, ask the local school if you can circulate the tin around the classrooms. Raising funds should be an experience full of fun and memorable moments but with effective results.
