Talking About Automatic Sliding Doors

By Arthur Smith

We mostly see them at malls or any kind of establishments worth noting. That, and the numerous offices and buildings that litter the cities. They are for convenience that makes entering and exiting a place quite easy, especially if you are carrying a bunch of stuff and cannot afford to use a hand to crack a door. They will just open right away upon your presence. And that is why they are called Automatic Sliding Doors.

There is an approach sensor in the ones that work in malls. This is when you just walk up to it and then it just opens for you and you can get through right away without waiting for it. Then it closes a few seconds after you passed it, assuming there were no other people behind you that followed you out.

Sometimes, it is not equipped with this sensor. There are those that open when a button is being pushed. Still, the fact that it does not need hands to push and pull all the time is amazing. It may already be common this generation, but think about how it was made and how the people who invented it worked on it.

It waits for us, so to speak. And after you have gone through, it waits for a couple of seconds before closing back again. Otherwise, it will just keep being open until the person decides to leave. This is good because there are also moments when someone is there to deliver a lot of heavy items and will need the door open at all times.

Going back on the standard types, the ones that open automatically, another example for it would be an elevator door. They quickly open and right away once it reaches a floor of its destination. Sometimes it may need the button pressed if it missed someone either exiting or entering. This is also meant for emergencies.

Elevators count as automatic ones as well, obviously. They open up mostly all every time automatically as soon as it stops on a floor. Sometimes though, it may need prompting to either open or close by a push of a button. Maybe because it took too long to do so, or that someone ran and yelled at the people already inside to wait.

Another one that falls into this is those that have a strict security system. These types may need some form of identification from you like an I. D. Or a thumbprint before fully letting you access entry and exit. They mostly are in offices that need security. These can be banks or the like but other forms of businesses also fall into it.

Most often than not, these doors are glass made. That may be because it makes the whole sliding thing easier if the component was made of thin hard substances. Then again, it also brings convenience to us because we will be able to see the other side. Once it opens, we will not be surprised if another person comes through.

Hermetic sliders might have a single wing or maybe a double. All glass ones are the same as Hermetics. The last one that falls into their category is called Clean Room sliding door, also with singular and double.
