Before You Deal With Philippines Activated Carbon Suppliers

By Christine Ellis

Many things need to be clean in an environmentally sound urban landscape, and this includes water. Water treatment is mostly done by the use of chemicals and filtration systems, with lesser dependence on the latter. However, with the advent of activated carbon, these are now widely used for filtration due to their effective absorption of contaminants from liquid or vapor streams. If you are in the market for this product, then you may be interested in some Philippines activated carbon sellers and producers and how to choose them.

While doing an internet search for activated carbon sellers in the Philippines, the search engine that you are using will net you about twenty or so odd results. In fact it will be full of coconut related industries or players and you may be wondering why this is so.

The main reason why coconut players, planters and manufacturers configure in activated carbon is because coconut shells are very much rich in carbon content and thus a prized input for getting the product at hand. It is transformed into its activated state through thermal composition and other physical change processes. Once treated and transformed, they absorptive capacities of the carbon is magnified greatly.

Although water filtration is a common use for this, it also sees increasing usage in other filtration systems involving air and industrial pollution as well as odor. In the homes portable usage in the way of diffusers also use this compound. This rising demand has also seen Philippine sellers wanting to cash in, but this increase in suppliers does not necessarily mean there really is that increase in quality supply.

A majority of the providers that you will come into contact with will of course be coconut producers or have something to do with the coconut industry, but a majority if not 80% of the time they just provide raw materials for the making of activated carbon than the actual product themselves, although they will tout themselves as makers of the product.

Save yourself the trouble of a trans Pacific flight by looking at the websites of your potential supply partners. As a general rule, a more capable supplier will have a website, which will detail their production processes, show pictures of their facilities and even showcase their products and current partners. If a supplier does not have a website then jut go on to the next one that has.

Once you find a fairly reputable supplier according to your estimates and perusal of information, then do email or contact them at the soonest possible time. Ask first for a brochure for you to look at. In this brochure must be listed their capabilities, facilities. See if they can customize the product for you for different uses, whether this be soil based applications, gas phase applications or liquid phase applications. Inquire if they can customize mesh sizes for your needs too.

And finally do make a visit to their facilities to see everything with your own eyes. By doing an ocular visit, you will determine if the supplier can handle your orders or not. Also at the visit, it will be a good time to talk to managers and owners if possible and see if they can match your business goals.
